Husqvarna partnered with Richmond Golf Club for its Australian PGA Seniors Championship, held early November as part of the PGA Legends Tour.
Husqvarna’s innovative commercial robotic lawn mower, CEORA™ was installed on the tournament’s 12th hole, demonstrating how advanced technology is reshaping turf maintenance for the highest standard of professional golf.
For the tenth consecutive year, the Australian PGA Seniors Championship was set against the backdrop of the stunning Blue Mountains at the Richmond Golf Club. The event featured top golfers from Australia and around the world, making it the biggest tournament on the PGA Legends Tour.
Richmond Golf Club installed Husqvarna’s CEORA™ robotic mower ahead of the tournament’s commencement, optimising the playing conditions for competitors by precisely manicuring the turf using Husqvarna’s advanced EPOS™ satellite navigation and eco-friendly operation.
The CEORA™ was scheduled to cut the fairway overnight, giving back valuable time to the greenkeepers to focus on other more detailed work ahead of the PGA tournament.
“We were excited to partner with Husqvarna to create the perfect playing conditions for the Australian PGA Seniors Championship,” said Craig Hodge, Golf Operations Manager at Richmond Golf Club.
“The performance of the CEORA™ has been impressive as it cut the fairways overnight, so each morning, our greenkeeping team arrived to freshly mowed turf. This allowed us to reallocate our staff to focus on critical areas of maintenance, improving the course conditions ahead of the tournament.”
Husqvarna aims to set a new standard in turf management, offering reduced CO₂ emissions for more sustainable playing surfaces, along with greener and denser turf due to the CEORA™ robotic mower’s unique cutting technology and increased mowing frequency.
