The new Ballina Coast Highschool will feature the latest in innovative design create the best possible environment for learning, enhanced by botton + gardiner’s Moonstone benches that emphasise the modern and creative vibe of the complex.
The highschool is built by Lipman and Bennett Constructions and features the latest technology in innovative classroom design.
botton + gardiner is proud that one of its products is a key feature of the project. The Moonstone benches by Metalco were specified by EJE Architecture, and feature a pebble-like, monolithic concrete form that is ideal for students to clamber over, lounge across, play with or perch on to eat.
The enlarged scale adds an element of fun and plays with the imagination, perfect for an interactive learning environment, while the curved form ensures there are no pointed corners that could cause potential injury. The seat ensures the design focuses on flexible learning spaces and collaborates with the interiors to enhance the elements of the space.
The Moonstone bench also taps into the contemporary trends of wellness, and incorporating natural forms and materials into our public spaces. Natural daylight, organic materials, greenery, more informal seating and diversity of spaces in our public avenues highlight modern concerns with mental, physical and social health.
The Moonstone’s rounded form is welcoming and invites informal gathering or sharing. The nature of pouring precast concrete means each piece is unique in how the aggregate settles and forms surface texture and embraces individuality.
botton + gardener believes our built environment and furniture can encourage engagement and be “social design for real life”. Contact the company today to specify outdoor furniture that is as unique as your space.
