IRRIGATION AUSTRALIA LIMITED
05 Dec 2011
IAL places a high priority on providing professional development opportunities for its members, and has recently reviewed its training strategy.
Irrigation Australia Limited (IAL) is the only national body covering the entire value chain of the urban and rural irrigation industry in Australia. The IAL recently reviewed its training and professional development strategy, and places a high priority on providing professional development opportunities for its membership.
Water used for irrigation in Australia consumes more than half of all developed water resources, so irrigation users have responsibility to ensure that this water is used wisely.
IAL’s vision is to foster a viable and sustainable irrigation industry; achieving this will lead the development of a professional irrigation industry through training.
IAL provides professional development opportunities both by delivering targeted courses and by working with other organisations that can offer training to improve skills and knowledge.
IAL places a high priority on education, training and certification as a way to lift the professionalism of the industry and provide a desirable career path.
IAL has been a registered training organisation (RTO) since 2007. As an RTO, IAL can deliver and assess the following qualifications across Australia:
• Certificate II in Irrigation (AHC21110)
• Certificate III in Irrigation (ACH32410)
• Certificate IV in Irrigation (AHC41110)
• Diploma of Irrigation Management (AHC51610)
The IAL’s RTO supports the association’s mission of “embracing best practice to underpin healthy, sustainable urban and rural communities and lifestyles”. It also supports IAL strategic objectives 2011 to 2015, particularly:
Objective 1 – Education, Training and Certification
Objective 3 – Knowledge and Information Transfer
Objective 4 – Advocacy
Objective 7 – Resourcing, Structure and Administration
