Hedge Property Services is proud to be part of the Howard Smith Wharves re-development. The team was engaged in December 2018 to perform post-construction maintenance to the historic $110 million restoration.

The precinct highlights the best Brisbane has to offer, right below the iconic Story Bridge. The stylish waterfront precinct stretches over 3.43 hectares and now includes an array of restaurants and cafes, a craft brewery, and a luxurious boutique hotel.

Partnering with Penfold Projects and Hutchinson Builders, the team at Hedge Property Services has accepted a one-year maintenance contract. The extensive scope of work includes detailed pruning of subtropical garden species, mowing and edging of extensive open lawn areas, application of herbicide, fungicide and insecticide, and weed removal from embankments, to ensure the iconic site is left in its best state at all times.

All turfed areas and garden surrounds, inclusive of hotel poolside and rooftop gardens, are meticulously maintained by the dedicated team. Hedge Property Services ensures that all landscapes are healthy and immaculate for the hundreds of locals and tourists who visit each day, in addition to providing a stunning backdrop for highly publicised events held throughout the year, such as MasterChef, New Year’s celebrations and more.

As can be expected of a popular site with a high volume of foot traffic, working around the public under ever-changing weather conditions has its challenges. However, the team at Hedge couldn’t be more excited to be contributing to a project that shapes the city of Brisbane for generations to come.
