NORTH KELLYVILLE STONE CLADDING
30 Aug 2017
KLS Sandstone has brought life to North Kellyville Square through the use of Tuscan Suede stone cladding. Not only is the complex visually appealing, the use of cladding in place of solid stone resulted in faster and cheaper installation.
KLS Sandstone supplied 400sqm of their Tuscan Suede square stone cladding to create panels of rustic charm on the outside of the building. The natural earthy tones of the stone provide a contrast to the rendered finish and glass panels also used in the construction of the centre, combining to create an effect that is aesthetically pleasing.
The shopping centre at Withers Road in Kellyville held its grand opening in July 2017. The centre boasts a large range of retail services along with big chain stores, restaurants, a gym, medical centre and cafes. As the building services different types of businesses, the cladding was chosen to help facilitate integration with the various shop fronts it services.
Installation of the cladding was completed over a period of a few weeks and incorporated the use of pre-produced quoins (corner pieces), which wrap around the edges and corners of the building to complete the 'look' of solid stone. The advantage of not using solid stone lies in the handling process, making it a time-saving option because the product is lighter and more easily manoeuvred. The cladding is affixed to the wall using adhesive.
KLS Sandstone has a range of cladding available in varying colours. Their cladding can be used with or without mortar joints for a different look and can be used internally or externally; for fireplaces, chimneys and feature walls inside the home as well as for large commercial buildings.
Tuscan Suede looks right at home in the bush, in the city and by the sea.
