WATERPROOFING DONE RIGHT
10 Sep 2020
Scientific Waterproofing Products (SWP) was commissioned by CJ Duncan to provide a waterproofing membrane for the portico roof on a block of apartments in Fairlight, NSW. Check out the results.
The following product features were required of the roof:
- Fully trafficable (vehicle and foot)
- UV stable
- Applied to a wet substrate
- Able to withstand prolonged submersion in water
- With a minimum 10-year product warranty
Scientific Waterproofing Products (SWP) offered two solutions:
Maxseal® Traffic
A cement-based water proofing membrane where both the first and second coats are simply brush applied onto a wet surface on each occasion.
It is ideal for waterproofing underground parking, garages, decks, ramps, warehouse/factory floors, residential floors, basements and much more.
Maxseal® Traffic provides superior traffic-bearing coating with very high waterproofing/dampproofing performance, and can withstand both positive and negative hydrostatic pressure. It has high UV resistance and requires no maintenance.
Maxjoint® Elastic
A cement-based mastic, used for expansion joints that may be subject to traffic (vehicle and foot), continuous submersion in water, UV-light and only applied to a wet substrate.
Maxjoint® Elastic provides excellent adhesion on damp surfaces and will bond completely to green/wet concrete, with no bonding agent required. It has very high weather resistance and durability with no maintenance required.
The work has been successfully completed as evidenced in the attached photos, and the 10-year product warranty issued by product manufacturer, Drizoro.
