Penfold Projects creates a rooftop oasis that makes the most of Brisbane’s city skyline, offering residents of Austin Apartments the perfect place to entertain and relax, from 20 storeys up.
With over 18 years in the landscape construction industry, Penfold Projects has provided landscaping services to some of Queensland’s most spectacular and innovative landscape projects from start to finish. Austin Apartments is no exception!
Entertaining space is a premium asset in inner city living, the solution, head to the roof and create an outdoor oasis. This is certainly the case at Austin Apartments in South Brisbane. The residents can now enjoy the Brisbane City skyline while still being sheltered and private, away from the busy fast paced city lifestyle below.
The brief for this residential highrise was to provide an environment for entertaining and relaxing, in conjunction with a space that could cater for all occasions. Penfold Projects, in collaboration with Rothe Lowman Architects, has certainly delivered in full with the perfect sanctuary on the rooftop of Aria Property Group’s Austin Apartments building.
Standing 20 storeys high in the trendy South Bank precinct, the apartments, built by CMF Projects offer the very best in inner city living, including the rooftop. Penfold Project’s design was to integrate the raised planters, full of thick foliage and colour, with the timber decks, the burees, arbour structures and the infinity edge pool, in order to frame the Brisbane City vista. It also incorporated shaded areas to which residents can escape and relax, or entertain family and friends.
To fully realise their design, Penfold’s carefully considered the selection of materials and plants. Each element was important in order to ensure that a cohesive mesh of all aspects was achieved, guaranteeing the workability of the complementary elements for their life in the rooftop environment.
Penfold Projects is a forward thinking landscape construction company that works closely with all stakeholders during the entire design and construction process. The Austin Apartments project allowed all of the company’s attributes to be explored and subsequently put on show.
Such was the success of the Austin Apartments project, it has recently been entered into the 2015 Landscape Queensland Awards.
