Mt Kembla Shared Path and Retaining Walls Works

Creating a safer road side, pedestrian access and bike track, Baines Masonry Block's Splitface retaining wall system was used in a creative wall design which blends well with existing exposed rock face.

Creating a safer road side, pedestrian access and bike track, Baines Masonry Block’s Splitface retaining wall system was used in a creative wall design which blends well with existing exposed rock face. The retaining wall system is well suited for the earth tones and textures of the area, creating an aesthetic that is both visually appealing and functional.

The shared path and retaining wall has been of great use for residents, especially for those attending Mount Kembla Public School, since April 2016. It is situated on the south side of Cordeaux Road between Booreea Boulevard and Williams James Drive at Port Kembla. The project was a collaboration between Wollongong Council and Illawarra Coal.
