03 May 2017
Proving that inclusive design is top of its class, KOMPAN’s Cross Systems is fighting fit and ready to make good on its finals nomination for the 2017 Good Design® Award.
KOMPAN Australia is finals bound with their entry “Cross Systems” into the 2017 Good Design® awards, the awards ceremony culminates in the industries ‘night of nights’ in Sydney on June 8th. This years’ Good Design® Awards Ceremony will be held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) in Circular Quay and host a fleet of the industry’s best and brightest.
Whilst announcing the Good Design® Selection award for KOMPAN Cross Systems, the Jury commented: “Design excellence at its very best. KOMPAN sets the standard for good design in this category and the KOMPAN Cross System takes this to a whole new level.”
“Every aspect of this product has been exceptionally well designed. The end result is another game changer from this design-driven company. Can we have one of these installed in every park in every town across Australia please?”
When designing the Cross Systems, the team at KOMPAN stayed true to their company mission; to inspire people to engage in a healthy and happy lifestyle by providing freely accessible places to train alone or in groups. In addition to this ethos, the Cross Systems product allows users the added benefit of being easily utilised by outdoor trainers who require a centered area to teach their workout classes.
Cross Systems is designed as an open and inviting structure equipped with innovative fitness equipment, ranging from suspension trainers and pull up bars, to free weights and parallel bars.
The six different standard frames can stand alone or be placed as joined structures, ideal for group training. Thanks to the wide variety in standard frames one can always create a composition that fits the needs of any targeted user group.
The surfacing design is an integrated part of the overall concept, and an important contributor to the content for exercise and fitness. Finally, both the surfacing and products are all protected by an international patent.
With the level of care and intuitiveness that has gone into the design concept surrounding the Cross Systems it is no wonder it has been a hit product amongst The Good Design® Awards judging panel this year.
The Good Design® Awards attract entries all around the world and cover 47 different product and service design categories. When asked about the interest surrounding the Cross Systems success, KOMPAN Australia marketing manager Christian Schwerdtfeger said “to be recognised amongst such esteemed competition is truly a privilege, but we have our eyes firmly set on the top award at the finals ceremony in Sydney”.
