Brighton High School

The new Brighton High School is a $74 million development in Brighton, a beautiful semi-rural location about 30 minutes’ drive north of Hobart.

According to education minister Jo Palmer, this state-of-the-art school is Tasmania’s biggest public education infrastructure project in more than a decade.

DESIGN

At the heart of the school is Learning Street, which was envisioned by landscape architects Playstreet as an outdoor space to encourage learning and interaction outside of the classroom. It features curved pathways, garden beds and a number of open seating areas.

EQUIPMENT

Playstreet chose the Climbslide 9 to maxinmise the space and create an inspirational area the students would find irresistable.

With its design inspired by the double helix of human DNA, the striking moveArt piece was considered the perfect form for the Playstreet design concept.

A bold and sculptural work of art, the Climbslide ignites curiosity and is truly multifunctional, as it offers students the opportunity to play and climb or simply chill out and connect.

All moveArt pieces are created from highly rot-resistant Accoya timber, which has a 50 year lifespan. It also requires minimal maintenance, as Accoya handles all weather extremes and is durable against vandalism and graffiti.
