Let's lay focus on diversity in the education space. Proludic have extensive expertise in inclusive playground design and making play accessible to everyone. Their recent project at Port Macquarie Public School highlights their dedication to the inclusion of all students.

Offering both mainstream and supported learning classes, Port Macquarie Public School is a long-time embracer of diversity in the school space. A strong commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for every student is at the core of the school’s values. So, a truly inclusive playground allowing all students the opportunity to participate and socialise was high on their priority list. With over twenty years experience, Proludic's focus on inclusive playspaces made them the perfect choice.

Before the playground’s renewal, a site visit revealed a space in need of transformation due to exclusion and limited accessibility faced by many students. The existing equipment lacked inclusion, with various barriers preventing children with diverse needs from fully participating in playtime.

The new playground was designed with key features to make it an inclusive and engaging space where all children can play, learn, and thrive together:

  • Activities that get everyone mingling, moving and learning
  • Accessible playground
  • Sensory experiences with bright colors, musical fun, and interactive play panels.
  • Communication boards for non-verbal children

The Deputy Principal of Supported Learning, Tina Henshaw, said "It’s a whole school playground, mainstream classes use this playground as much as supported learning. Difference is celebrated and it’s a playspace for everyone."
