Set amongst the South Bank Parklands in Brisbane, the Hassell designed Riverside Green is a plant-filled space that expands the parks and public spaces of the city.

CONSIDERATIONS

The key consideration for Street + Garden was to provide ample seating in a tranquil relaxing space along the riverside for the growing population of Brisbane, encouraging passersby along the promenade to take a moment to unwind in the ‘green heart’ of the city. The furniture design had to factor in the heavy traffic they would be subjected to, with Riverside Green being the setting for a plethora of public events and host to thousands during Riverfire and New Years Eve fireworks displays.

OPPORTUNTIES

Street + Garden saw this project as an opportunity to be part of a project to create an adaptable place for events and everyday life, working in collaboration with Hassell to provide South Bank Corporation with another recognisable and memorable addition to their landscape along with the previous Liana Lounge.
