Association Profile
Founded over 40 years ago, The Landscape Association (TLA) is now the leading industry association for landscape professionals in New South Wales and the ACT. Representing hundreds of landscape businesses, TLA has overseen and nurtured the growth of the industry and the reputation of the landscaping field in today’s modern economy.
As a truly collaborative organisation, membership is open to every area of the landscaping sector, including professionals working in design, construction, maintenance, trade service provision, landscape supply, as well as educational institutions. Small or large, residential or commercial, rural or urban, there is a membership package to suit the needs of every business. TLA seeks to create a spirit of cooperation, where members openly share skills and knowledge with their colleagues for the benefit of the industry. We also seek to forge strong bonds and working relationships with other industries, associations, government bodies
and key stakeholders both locally and on a broader stage.
TLA actively promotes a positive perception of the landscaping industry be publicising and highlighting the outstanding skills of our members through a variety of channels and social media. TLA members have developed a well-earned reputation for professionalism and craftsmanship, experience, knowledge and creativity. As part of our drive to encourage and endorse the very highest standards in the field, we host an annual TLA Landscape Excellence Awards, where the most exceptional projects of the year are presented, recognised and applauded by the whole industry.
Landscaping is an industry vital not only to those working in it, it also shapes our society’s natural environment, now and for future generations. TLA acts as a united voice for our membership on crucial industry-wide issues, helping to shape the future of the landscaping sector and protect the vitality of the industry we serve. We represent the views of members on issues such as environmental initiatives, sustainability, working conditions, WHS, education and certification.
Ensuring the right macro conditions for a thriving and successful industry is important. TLA recognises that the success of individual businesses is just as vital. Our individual member benefits are designed to support businesses at every stage, from inception right through to large-scale growth.
