The Capital City Committee is part of the Solar Cities Program, which wanted to create solar trees as an impact statement for the State Government of South Australia to demonstrate its commitment to seeking out alternative forms of energy.

Street & Park Furniture were involved in the design process in conjunction with MPH Architects, and involving the solar expertise of Pecan Lighting.

As well as being able to utilise their world first handmade curved solar panels, Street & Park also looked after the fabrication and installation. The Trees also use colour changer LED’s lights and a motion activated sound system.
