With temperatures and the rate of urbanisation rapidly increasing, it has never been more important to engage in products targeting the fight against climate change. The rapid installation of living canopies will not only provide traditional shade but restore urban biodiversity, the fight against air pollution, and improve the quality of life for citizens.

Urban Canopee is available in various sizes, providing shade anywhere from 18-48m2. The crown opening angle can be adjusted to perfectly fit areas where existing overhead infrastructures can prevent it from fully opening. With minimal floor space required, a large green canopy is provided, while posing no impact on underground services.

Following the biomimicry principles, Urban Canopee is inspired by the shapes found in the natural world such as flowers and mushrooms; while being supported with ample amounts of engineering and calculations to ensure the solidity, wind resistance and stability of the structure.

The composite structure is secured to a galvanized steel frame in which the water tank and substrate pot are nested. With each project requiring specific needs, these bases can be tailored to suit a range of designs.

The stand-alone structures can be connected with one another through the top extremities of the ‘petals.’ These types of inter-connections further stabilise the structure and make for a breath-taking oasis.
