Engineered and manufactured in Australia, Mascot Engineering’s lightweight Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) planter boxes have the lifespan of traditional concrete, without the hassle of moving a tonne of concrete into position.

Utilising commercial grade planters from Mascot Engineering, the owners of a residential warehouse conversion in Sydney’s inner city created an urban oasis within its walls, designing a space for their children – and the dog – to play, dream and grow in, with a little bit of nature thrown in. The planters chosen for this project were utilised for feature planting, due to their large scale size, lifespan and natural raw concrete finish.

As a unique feature of this project, one of Mascot Engineering’s large scale planters was also used as a backyard sandpit. The surface of Mascot’s GRC planters can be finished in any material that is suitable for use on concrete – allowing this sandpit to be finished in a playful and inspiring orange. The sandpit was then completed with a custom aluminium cover.
