Installed around 2010, the Lutman’s fence has stood up remarkably well over time, with the mostly west-facing fence looking fresh and well-presented with very little upkeep.

Replacing a deteriorating softwood fence, the Lutman’s selected DecoSlat® to secure and enhance their pool area. By retaining the existing brick pillars, they were able to combine old and new elements seamlessly, with custom solid panels manufactured to suit the space.

Three bespoke gates were also created, including a solid front gate facing the street and two slatted gates that provide visibility into the pool enclosure. The chosen DecoWood® Casuarina finish complimented the colour tones of the brick pillars and tied the whole design together beautifully.

Having previously dealt with the maintenance demands of real timber, the Lutman’s were looking for a fencing solution that offered the same premium look without the constant upkeep.

“Maintenance? I just clean the bird droppings and cob webs, sometimes a bit of dirt splatter when it rains. Maybe twice a year plus spot cleaning as required. It’s so easy to clean – sometimes I just hose it off when I am in the garden, it doesn’t take much.

“As well as no maintenance, we also love the look of it, we have always loved the look of it. Sometimes it’s hard to choose a colour from a sample, but we were happy from the start. It just fits in so well with the pool yard.”

Their DecoWood® fence has attracted plenty of attention over the years, with neighbours admiring the finished result almost immediately after installation.
