MULTI-AWARD WINNING PROJECT USES GRC PLANTERS ON GREEN WALL FACADES

The landscaping elements of the project were contracted to Fytogreen which is acknowledged as an industry innovator in horticultural technologies, is one of Australia’s leading landscaping companies, and has an enviable reputation in the design and installation of green walls for large commercial projects. Also, Fytogreen has worked collaboratively and successfully with Satu Bumi in the supply of GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete) planters and landscaping elements for their projects over several years.

Satu Bumi was engaged by Fytogreen to manufacture and supply the custom GRC tables, benches and planters for the social spaces and the GRC planters for the green walls and green facades spanning seven floors of the 380 Lonsdale Street building. GRC was chosen for the green wall planters over plastic, metal or cast concrete because GRC is more weather and fire resistant than plastic, does not corrode like metals and has a much better strength to weight ratio than cast concrete.

This was a highly bespoke landscaping project designed by Aspect Studios, which is an internationally awarded landscape design firm, and showcased Satu Bumi’s ability to manufacture custom GRC landscaping products to suite quality commercial social and fire compliant green wall spaces.

All the planters, tables and benches were manufactured with high commercial grade GRC using Satu Bumi's CityScape technology, with both natural grey and white GRC concrete smooth finishes to provide long term weather resistant functionality.
