The strategic acquisition reinforces SVC’s position as a key supplier to civil infrastructure, maintaining the availability of essential drainage products to meet critical industry demand.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT
Frankston Concrete Products (FCP), a 73-year-old manufacturing business, had notified its customers in October 2025 of its impending closure.
FCP was one of the few precast manufacturers in Victoria still producing concrete pipe, trade waste systems and pump stations – unseen but essential components used in public and private construction. FCP’s complete exit from the market would pose a threat to construction timelines in a market already starved for supply.

Recognising the importance of FCP’s product offering within the broader scope of Victoria’s infrastructure pipeline, SVC made a strong bid to secure the future of the business. Also a precast concrete manufacturer servicing civil construction, SVC’s takeover of FCP would ensure continued manufacture of the FCP product range, honouring existing supply agreements and broadening SVC’s existing range of civil and stormwater products.
A SMOOTH TRANSITION
To satisfy customer expectations and ensure minimal disruption to business operations, SVC was able to maintain standard trading operations from FCP’s Dandenong South facility from day one. The site now operates in tandem with SVC’s existing Civil distribution branches in Mordialloc, Thomastown and Breakwater, servicing civil contractors and infrastructure works all over Victoria.

EXPANDED CAPABILITIES FOR AN IMPROVED CUSTOMER OFFERING
The integration of the FCP operation into SVC Civil Products’ business supports the company’s broader strategy to amplify its local manufacturing capabilities. It enables the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, increasing productivity to satisfy the growing demands of Australia’s infrastructure pipeline.
FCP and SVC customers can now benefit from a more comprehensive product range; increased manufacturing capacity and stock holdings; streamlined service and improved supply reliability; and continued access to industry-conforming products and experienced technical teams.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
SVC Civil Products continues to invest in its people, processes and production capabilities. The acquisition creates an immediate need for SVC to supplement its existing local workforce with additional skilled personnel, maintaining current productive outputs while preparing for future growth. In addition to the FCP staff who were retained, the company intends to expand its immediate workforce to support the business expansion.
By continuing with and growing FCP’s operations, SVC is helping to safeguard project timelines and local supply chains at a time when reliability is crucial for the boom in Victorian infrastructure.
