The Rainbow Connection

A rainbow net has been suspended under the iconic dome of Galeries Lafayette in Paris, transforming the central open space into a giant playground for kids and adults alike.

The Rainbow Connection

Titled Funarea, the installation takes visitors 12 metres above ground and invites them to lay down and experience the store’s iconic dome, or have fun by bouncing on the stretched circular surface.

The Rainbow Connection

Funarea is part of the Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann Funorama, which takes visitors back to their childhood through various ‘fun zones’ spread throughout the entire store. These zones include foosball, polaroid photo booths and old-school arcade games.

The Rainbow Connection

In celebration of the upcoming summer season for Paris, the suspended installation takes centre stage right under the department store’s famous art deco glass dome, and can be accessed via a walkway on the second floor.
