Quatro Design is Australia’s leading manufacturer of GRC (glassfibre reinforced concrete) and lightweight fibreglass products for the landscape industry. At Quatro Design our team strives to make the highest quality planters, and street furniture for residential and commercial projects.

 

Products:

We have been manufacturing landscaping products in GRC for over 10 years, and recently we added lightweight fibreglass (FRP) products to our range.

 

GRC combines the high strength of glass fibre with the rigidity of concrete. The resulting composite is a tough, rigid material that has a strength-to-weight ratio superior to most other commonly-used building products.

 

In those situations where weight is an issue, fibreglass is more suitable than GRC. Also, fibreglass planters are ideal for indoor applications where a high gloss surface finish is required such as in hotel foyers. Most of our pots and bowls are now available in fibreglass, made using the same moulds that we make our GRC products in.

Composition and Manufacture:

GRC is a high-strength composite comprising a cement-sand mortar (with additives) reinforced with bundled strands of 35mm-long glassfibre filaments (5% by weight content). GRC products will not shatter upon impact, and are highly durable and unaffected by weather or UV. They are typically one-fifth the weight of precast concrete products making them safer and easier to handle on site, while reducing loads on structures when installed. Fibreglass is a composite material incorporating glassfibres in polyester or epoxy resin. Fibreglass products are both strong and lightweight.

All of our products are made right here in Australia. You benefit from being able to source locally-manufactured products that are made to a high standard using the finest materials available. We also manufacture to order which expands your choice in term of colour, special finishes, feet requirements, design modifications, etc. Our lead times are relatively short so you won’t have to wait months to get what you really want.
