Felton Industries Expands Shelter Range

Felton Industries has expanded its shelter range with the launch of new modular and cantilever solutions for flexible, high-use outdoor spaces.

Felton Industries Expands Shelter Range

Felton Industries, Australia’s leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of Australian-made premium aluminium outdoor furniture, has announced the expansion of its shelter range with the launch of new the modular and cantilever shelter solutions. The new range is designed to support flexible layouts, efficient installation, and long-term performance across councils, schools, transport hubs and commercial environments.

The expanded shelter offering introduces two distinct solutions: a modular shelter system designed for scalability and adaptability, and a cantilever shelter designed to maximise usable space through an unobstructed, single-sided support structure. Together with the Skillion range, these new options give organisations greater flexibility to design outdoor spaces that respond to changing needs while maintaining durability and low maintenance requirements.

Simon Clayton, Product Marketing Manager of Felton Industries, said, “Outdoor spaces in the harsh Australian climate need to work harder than ever. Customers are looking for shelter solutions that can adapt over time, handle high use, and remain practical to maintain. This range gives them the flexibility to build what they need now and expand later, without starting from scratch.”

Both ranges are constructed from aluminium and designed for Australian conditions. They provide a low-maintenance solution for high-use environments.

MODULAR SHELTER SYSTEM

The modular shelter system is designed for flexibility, allowing organisations to start with a single unit or develop larger connected layouts over time. This makes it well suited to applications such as covered walkways, outdoor learning areas and community spaces where future expansion may be required.

The system is built using pre-engineered sections that are manufactured off-site and assembled on location. This approach supports faster installation and allows multiple units to be connected or reconfigured as site requirements evolve.

The modular design supports a scalable approach to infrastructure, helping facilities teams respond to changing usage without needing to replace existing structures. It is wind rated for higher wind regions and is structurally certified for public use.

Simon Clayton said, “The modular system gives customers a practical way to plan for the future. They can install what they need today and expand as requirements change, which is important for growing schools, councils and community facilities.”

CANTILEVER SHELTER

The cantilever shelter introduces a single-sided support structure that removes the need for front posts, creating open, unobstructed space underneath. This design improves sightlines and increases usable area, making it particularly suited to high-traffic environments.

Simon Clayton said, “The cantilever design addresses a common challenge in shared spaces. By removing front posts, it opens up the area underneath and improves visibility, which is important for both safety and usability in busy environments.”

CREATING COMPLETE, COVERED OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENTS

Both shelter types are designed to integrate with existing Felton seating solutions, including grandstands and outdoor settings, allowing customers to create complete, covered environments that improve comfort and usability.

The expanded range supports a wide variety of use cases, including:

  • parks, playgrounds, and community gathering areas
  • spectator seating and sports facilities
  • covered outdoor learning and school environments
  • transport infrastructure such as walkways and transit shelters
  • commercial spaces including outdoor dining and shared areas
  • industrial sites requiring covered breakout or storage areas

The new shelter range also integrates with existing Felton seating solutions, including grandstands and outdoor settings, allowing customers to create complete, covered environments that improve comfort and usability.

The expanded shelter range forms part of Felton’s broader product hierarchy, which includes entry-level, modular, and cantilever options to suit different project requirements and budgets.
