A hardware store in Las Condes, Santiago Chile has undergone a green makeover thanks to the installation of a vertical garden system.
The owners of the hardware store, Falabella, wanted to visually enhance the appearance of the multi-level car park with vertical gardens. They requested the help of Atlantis Water Management, who supplied the vertical garden system as well as advised on the structural design. The project was completed in June 2011.
According to Atlantis, this was a challenging project because the green wall had to be mounted on every level of the car park with structural considerations.
Over 10,000 plants were used in the project. 359 square metres of Atlantis Gro-Wall® was installed around the multi-level parking. The Atlantis Gro-Wall® featured individual plant irrigation and easy individual plant installation allowing easy maintenance.
The vertical garden system has added a sense of greenery to the hardware store, enhancing the overall appearance of the building and turning the car park into an eye-catching focal point.
