GREENWALLS A GROWING BUSINESS
14 Oct 2015
Over the past 5 years PlantUp has tested, designed, re-designed and mastered their greenwalls to ensure they will last the lifetime of the building on which they are installed.
A growing trend for vertical gardens, greenroofs, urban farming and edible greenwalls is providing fertile ground for Brisbane business PlantUp. Over 5 years of research has gone into designing, testing and mastering PlantUp’s greenwalls to ensure longevity. However, the challenge is not now, it’s in the next 10 to 20 years.
With longevity in mind, PlantUp’s lightweight modular greenwall panels are constructed from powder-coated aluminium and fixed to walls via aluminium sub-frames. Inside the panels, specifically engineered lightweight inorganic growing media is used, resulting in zero soil subsidence over time.
With over 80 projects Australia-wide, PlantUp’s work can be spotted on a number of high-rises, offices and inner-city apartment blocks. PlantUp encourages people to visit these installations and see the durability and beauty of their gardens firsthand.
As leaders in this evolving industry Plantup provide a range of services, from consultation to project design, construction and ongoing maintenance. Their greenwall and greenroof systems are applicable to all developments.
The greenwall and greenroof trend is growing, and the modern age of social media has enabled PlantUp to reach a large audience through their Facebook and Instagram accounts, keeping them up-to-date on their experiences with this growing trend; join their journey online.
