Ground-breaking new horticultural event announced

The Australian Garden Show is a new and exciting event which celebrates Australia’s passion for creating unique gardens and outdoor spaces. The show will be held in Centennial Park, 5-8 September and will feature leading landscape architects, workshops presented by gardening gurus and personalities, products to purchase and a high tea marquee which, come nightfall, transforms into a floral cocktail bar setting.

The show will be produced by AGB Events under the event direction of Anthony Bastic (Vivid Sydney Festival Director) and curated by award winning landscape designer, gardener and author Myles Baldwin.

Anthony Bastic said Centennial Park was the perfect backdrop for the Show. “NSW boasts some of our most beautiful open gardens making Sydney’s Centennial Park ideal to showcase the depth of expertise and creativity of Australia’s garden designers and horticulturists,” he said.

The spring timing will provide nurseries and display gardeners, retailers and audiences with the ultimate experience from intimate flowering blooms to towering landscape designs in a showcase that will rival the world for its display of rare and amazing horticulture.

“We are thrilled to host this garden show that will become an iconic international event, especially one so closely aligned with the values of the Parklands,” said Kim Ellis Director & Chief Executive, Centennial Parklands.

With 2013 being Centennial Park’s 125th anniversary, The Australian Garden Show will be a major highlight in the celebrations. Check out their facebook page and website which will provide information on the complete program and ticket sales later this month.
