Partnering up with Biba Play, Omnitech has become the sole Australian distributers of a new app that will amplify the playground experience. Designed to be played while using the playground, the app incorporates playground equipment within each game, allowing the user to interact with the equipment and the six augmented reality markers installed around the playground.

There are a number of games to choose from and are free to download from the app store. Biba games leverage the best part of being on a playground – imagination! Children are encouraged to use their imagination while interacting with the playground.

Biba games are played with the parents as the referee. This means that the parent downloads the game and holds the phone through the entire game experience. The games are designed to be familiar to both parents and children, containing elements reminiscent of classic schoolyard games and common screen-based experiences. Some Biba games can be played with multiple children, allowing for increased socialisation amongst children at the playground.

Once Biba is installed at a playground a monthly report is generated using the data collected from the app. The report produces information such as peak hours of playground usage, average age of the playground user, most popular equipment, the activity profile of the children and much more.
