The Pavilion is a celebration of mid century architecture, designed to play host to entertainment and a little frivolity.
The garden is designed with four designated areas - the entrance, pavilion, pool and a lawn area. Each area serves their own purpose and the landscape comes together seamlessly to create a functional yet sociable garden.
The entrance stimulates curiosity. Implied by a vertical wall and layered planting, it is further defined by a series of floating steps inviting you into the garden. This entrance leads to the elevated pavilion, which encourages congregation and is essentially the ‘heart’ of the garden. The pavilion offers a view over the entire garden whilst providing protection, warmth and comfort.
Adding another dimension to the space is the plunge pool. Its function is two fold: a water feature and a purposeful element that acts as a destination, encouraging social engagement.
The hardscaping materials have been meticulously selected for their bold, yet elegant finish. The textures create visual amusement whilst a neutral colour palette allows the planting to become a prominent feature within the garden. The plants have been selected for their strength in foliage texture, shape and form, to actively promote a verdant, calm and gratifying setting.
Peta strives to maintain consistency of style throughout her designs with her inspiration stemming from an architectural and design perspective rather than a gardening one, and as a result her landscapes become distinctive with a focus on form, texture, shape and colour.
