7132, a new 80-storey luxury hotel tower has been unveiled for the tiny hamlet of Vals in the Swiss Alps. Designed by Morphosis, the tower features a slim, reflective pane designed to mirror the surrounding mountainous landscape, which almost evaporates into the alpine scenery.  

“The hotel is a minimalist act that re-iterates the site and offers to the viewer a mirrored, refracted perspective of the landscape," said the project architects.

"The tower's reflective skin and slender profile camouflage with the landscape, abstracting and displacing the valley and sky."

The concept is defined by three primary forms: a podium linking the building with neighbouring structures; a cantilever containing public amenities; and a tower which will include 107 guest rooms with panoramic views, a ballroom, library, restaurants, a cafe, sky bar and gallery. 

Due for completion in 2019, the building will form part of the Vals Resort.
