Across an intense, six-week process, The Byron at Byron Resort & Spa in Byron Bay completed a major renovation. The entire resort received an upgrade with the major works focusing around renovated suites and a refreshed spa. Svalson Australia wind barriers were installed in February 2018 as part of the reinvention of the restaurant, bar, reception and conference spaces.

The design concept that lay at the foundation of the revamp was the idea to invite nature indoors and provide a seamless merge of inside and outside spaces, introduced by leading interior designer, Luchetti Krelle. This, coupled with the idea to make guests feel at home on their holiday, led to a unique and innovative design that combines luxury with homestyle and nature-inspired elegance.

Svalson’s stylish balustrading is the perfect addition to this vision. The sliding glass panels can be easily elevated on blustery days, providing an innovative solution that protects the main dining precinct without interrupting the ambiance of the space.

The installation also provides wind protection for the conference spaces, including the added benefit of providing a highly effective sound barrier to the rooms.

Svalson’s barriers provide relief from the spaces that are permeated with tones of copper, maroon and warm timbers, by allowing for the natural light and greenery to shine through, held in place by smooth, dark borders that seamlessly blend into the landscape.

The Svalson wind barriers are an integral component of the transformation, providing reliable functionality in addition to sophisticated style that perfectly complements the renovated space.
